Applications are invited from Registered Nurses interested in becoming a Midwife by undertaking a Graduate Diploma of Midwifery, through Federation University Australia, Churchill Campus and completing the clinical component of the course at the West Gippsland Hospital in Warragul.
The Midwifery unit of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group is a family‑centred contemporary facility, dedicated to serving the needs of the community whilst always striving for excellence.
The successful applicant(s) will gain a broad knowledge base and experience across all areas of Midwifery under the expert guidance of our Midwifery Clinical Educators and experienced Midwives.
This is a paid employment model, with course costs at the candidate's expense – proof of acceptance at the University must be provided.
Requirements
* Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
* Completion of two years post‑registration experience within an acute setting.
* Eligibility to enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Midwifery with Federation University Australia, Churchill, who have an agreed contractual arrangement with the West Gippsland Healthcare Group.
* Successful completion of all academic university requirements and milestones each semester throughout the course duration.
* Evidence of influenza vaccination (or exemption) prior to commencement; some roles are required to be vaccinated annually.
