The Opportunity Safety is at the heart of everything we do. We are seeking an experienced Site HSE Advisor to join our team on a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project, with opportunities to join future projects in our ongoing pipeline. This role is suited to a mature, proactive safety professional with around 10+ years’ experience in industry, someone who can work closely with construction teams in a high stakes field environment.
You will support the Project Management Team to maintain safe work practices and deliver strong HSEQ outcomes across the project. This is a site-based role (5 days per week) with accommodation provided.
You will:Provide support to the Group QHSE Manager and the broader QHSE function.Demonstrate visible HSE leadership aligned with CE Group management systems and values.Coach and mentor project personnel, particularly front-line leaders and supervisors.Support the coordination and implementation of HSE systems, procedures and practices.Monitor compliance with CE Group HSEQ management systems across the project.Support the project leadership team to deliver strong HSE performance and safety culture.Promote transparent reporting, learning and continuous improvement related to hazards, risks and incidents.Encourage leadership accountability for safety across all levels of the workforce.Champion mental health, wellbeing and a positive safety culture.

This role is ideal for a credible, hands-on HSE professional who enjoys working alongside construction teams to drive strong safety performance in a dynamic energy infrastructure environment.
Key requirements:Minimum Certificate IV in Workplace Health & Safety.Strong understanding of Australian WHS legislation, standards and codes of practice.Proven ability to work with multiple stakeholders including clients, subcontractors and site teams.Experience identifying hazards, assessing risks and implementing effective controls.Ability to lead risk assessments and safety workshops.Strong written and documentation skills across HSE procedures, plans and reports.Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.Experience coaching and mentoring project personnel.Intermediate to advanced MS Office and digital systems capability.Incident investigation training (ICAM or similar).Current Australian driver’s license.Senior First Aid, CPR, Low Voltage Rescue, and relevant hazard training (e.g. Working at Heights, Confined Space).
Candidates with experience in energy construction projects, particularly renewable energy such as solar, wind or BESS, will be highly regarded. Preference will also be given to applicants who hold an Australian Electrical License, Diploma in WHS (or higher), Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Lead Internal Auditor certification, or Mental Health First Aid training.
