Opportunity
This is a newly created Manager opportunity to support the continued growth of the Beca Power business in Australia. This role presents an opportunity to build and shape a high-performing team in one of Beca's fastest-growing markets. The role will be based in Sydney (to lead the Sydney and Brisbane teams) or can be based in Melbourne (to lead the Melbourne based team). You will be working with an established leadership team including the other Power Managers, as well as Team, Technical, Market, Client and Project Leaders. You will be leading the focus on recruitment and retention, while also collaborating in a truly pan-Beca approach with the Power business line approach to resourcing with teams based across Australia, New Zealand, Jakarta and Thailand. You'll have the autonomy to foster an inclusive culture, and set new standards for collaboration and service excellence, making a significant impact on both people and project outcomes.
Our manager roles are busy, challenging, dynamic and rewarding positions where your abilities will be tested and developed, playing a significant part in developing our people, hiring new team members and supporting Power's project, client and commercial goals. Key Responsibilities
Leading recruitment and workforce planning activities for the section across career levels and technical disciplines with a focus on growth in the size of the team.
Onboarding new talent into the team, ensuring a smooth induction and clear ways of working.
Retention and wellbeing across a predominantly new team through purposeful leadership, ensuring good distribution of workload through effective resourcing.
Enable engagement and work-sharing with other Beca sections and business lines to balance workload and grow capability.
Lead a high-performing team who excel at technical delivery, client service, innovation, quality and achieve delivery to project work package cost plans.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring leadership experience leading teams, with demonstrated track record of building and developing high-performing teams and navigating periods of rapid growth. This experience may be in a current Manager role, Team Leader role or could be in a delivery, technical, or client-focused role with the right mix of business, people, and leadership skills.
You will be known as a leader who 'sets the bar' in terms of culture and professionalism. You will be able to inspire a positive working environment, and will know how to guide, develop, challenge, and inspire other professionals with experience in 1:1 development focused conversations. You will enjoy a challenge, be action focused, display the ability to balance competing time commitments, and be comfortable with making commercial judgements. You will have (and be ready to develop) your broad leadership skills with an understanding of employment issues from a people leadership perspective.
