We are partnering with a leading Queensland State Government department to recruit an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee construction projects across Far North Queensland. This role is pivotal in ensuring the successful delivery of infrastructure projects that serve the community and align with governmental objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

o Project Management: Manage all phases of building projects, including pre-design, design, documentation, contract administration, and post-construction activities, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and suitable building products to clients.
o Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate activities across project staff, external consultants, building contractors, managers, and various business units to ensure cohesive project execution.
o Procurement and Contract Management: Prepare procurement documentation and oversee high-level contract coordination for both traditional and non-traditional contract systems.
o Performance Monitoring: Ensure projects meet defined scope, time, cost, cash-flow, quality requirements, and profitability targets.
o Negotiation and Value Management: Lead negotiations to identify and deliver value-for-money solutions.
o Variance and Audit Control: Generate exception reports on time and cost aspects of project management and perform project audits to assess team performance.
o Quality Assurance and Reporting: Ensure adherence to all quality assurance procedures. Prepare monthly project reports and input project-specific data for auditing processes.


The ideal candidate will have:

o Proven experience in managing construction projects. Public sector experience is an added bonus!
o Strong understanding of project management methodologies and frameworks.
o Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
o Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
