The Hobart Police & Community Youth Club is seeking a qualified Youth/Social Worker to assist in delivering early intervention programs for youths in the Hobart area - namely our Fit2Lead & Youth Works Programs.
The Hobart Police & Community Youth Club's programs are early intervention programs for 14 to 16 year olds. The programs can incorporate adventure-based learning principles, social and skill development training, community interventions, mentoring, case management, education and vocational scholarships to support young people to build careers and vocational pathways as well as bridging their disconnect with society.
The Youth Worker will be responsible for supporting the delivery of the programs and all reporting requires outlined for the programs.
The program will be based at the Hobart Police & Community Youth Club but will also include off-site work.
The Youth Worker will provide practical, mentoring support to young people to facilitate best outcomes. This will involve:
- Engaging and building rapport with at-risk young people selected to attend the programs
- Supporting the planning, implementation and delivery of youth programs designed to increase safety, positive community engagement, life skills and cultural connection.
- Maintaining stakeholder relationships and local reputation to a high standard.
- Facilitating data collection through case notes, administering surveys, and provide timely and professional project reports as required.
Applicants will require:
- A valid Driver's License
- A valid Working With Vulnerable People Card
- A degree in social work, certificate in youth work or equivalent qualification in a related field (or substantial relevant experience)
