About the Role
Tenure:Permanent full-time
Science and Innovation, Industry and Corporate Capability builds the State's capacity through targeted support, fostering innovation and industry capability and ensures effective and efficient administration of DEED's financial assistance and equity programs and business support functions.
We are seeking a proactive and talented individual to join our dynamic Legal Services team
Working in consultation with senior team members, you will research, prepare and manage legal matters of low to medium complexity, and provide legal advice on contract interpretation, negotiation, drafting and preparation.
You will also support the General Counsel and Deputy General Counsel on more complex and sensitive legal matters. This role offers opportunities to broaden your knowledge and experience, build capability across the Department, and contribute to a team that places strong emphasis on mentorship and ongoing professional development.
The successful candidate will possess:
A Bachelor of law degree and be eligible for admission to legal practice in Western Australia.
Some experience in the provision of in-house legal counsel (public or private).
Demonstrated experience in commercial or contract law and statutory interpretation, litigation and mediation including general knowledge and experience in drafting accurate legal advice and documentation.
Knowledge and understanding of the parliamentary and legislative process.
