Role Details The Director, Planning and Statutory Approvals leads the Coordinator General's Office (CGO) team responsible for planning, statutory approvals (primary and secondary), and related statutory functions under the State Development Coordination and Facilitation Act ****.
This pivotal role drives the facilitation of major and significant developments and development areas through:
•Site selection and approval pathway mapping
• Provision of a one-window-to-government approvals service for declared projects and/or areas
• Supporting the CGO in exercising statutory powers and associated duties As Director, you will be an experienced, modern, and inclusive leader who empowers the team, the CGO, and the broader sector to promote economic, social, and environmental development aligned with government objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the planning and statutory approvals team within CGO
• Oversee facilitation of major projects and development areas
• Ensure compliance with the Act and related statutory functions
• Drive collaboration across government and industry to streamline approvals
• Provide strategic advice to the Coordinator General We are looking for an experienced leader with:
• Extensive experience in planning, statutory approvals, and development facilitation
• Strong understanding of legislative frameworks and government processes
• Proven ability to lead diverse teams and foster an inclusive culture
• Exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills Special Conditions The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
