The Team:
Allied Health Strategy and Policy is a small, high-performing team in the Department of Health, Tasmania. We provide high-level policy advice and lead strategic allied health workforce projects and initiatives aligned with the Department of Health Strategic Priorities.
The Role:
The Policy and Executive Support Officer is an integral member of the Allied Health Strategy and Policy team. The role involves:
1. Coordinating the preparation of high-quality briefings and reports for the Secretary and Ministers on allied health policy, workforce, legislative, regulatory, and clinical governance issues.
2. Providing project support through administration, coordination, research, and report preparation for multiple projects.
3. Offering executive support to the Chief Allied Health Officer and Deputy Chief Allied Health Advisor, including secretariat support for committees.
You will need to have:
* Experience in policy and executive support within demanding environments, demonstrating effective output management and coordination skills.
* Knowledge of project management principles.
* Strong written and oral communication skills.
* Ability to provide secretarial and administrative support.
* Critical thinking, research, and analytical skills.
* Proficiency with various IT systems and software, with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.

Details of appointment:
* Permanent full-time position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.
* Hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Applicants should note that, for twelve months from the publication date, this selection process may be used to fill similar vacancies.
Salary: $81,915 to $94,263 per annum, plus 12% superannuation contribution.
Salary is in accordance with the Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2022.
