About Us Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'. Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly. Funds in Court Funds in Court [FIC] is a discrete, self-funded, administrative division of the Supreme Court of Victoria. FIC assists the Senior Master, who is an Associate Judge of the Court, in administering and investing funds in Court for people who are under a legal disability. A person is under a legal disability if he or she is under 18 years old, or has an intellectual or physical disability, or both. Funds may be awarded by the County Court, Magistrates' Court or the Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT). People who have money administered by the Senior Master are referred to as “clients” of the Court. The Senior Master becomes the “legal owner” of the funds, holding them in trust for people who do not have capacity to manage their own affairs. The staff at FIC provide a range of services to support the Senior Master and the administration of funds. About the role The Investment Analyst will report to the Director Investment Services and carry out day-to-day functions of the investment section of the Office. The Investment Analyst will work closely with the Senior Investment Analyst and communicate with external consultants to ensure that investment performance and client services delivery are maintained within expectations set by the Senior Master. The position is responsible for following approved investment advice by completing, recording and finalising transactions accurately and on time. Key accountabilities include: * Liaising with external consultants, advisers and financial institutions—including banks, brokers, asset consultants and relevant committees—to support the monitoring of investment performance and ensure effective information flow that meets the standards required by the Senior Master. * Processing investment transactions on behalf of the Senior Master's portfolio by following approved investment instructions, ensuring all activities are completed accurately, documented properly and reported as required. * Using expertise to assist with preparing materials for the Investment Review Panel and Investment Compliance Committee and attending meetings to provide administrative and operational support. * Identifying and responding to new and emerging strategic issues impacting the Investments Section. * Processing investment purchase and sale instructions by liaising with financial institutions, completing required back‑office records, and ensuring settlements are executed accurately and on time. * Assisting with calculating and maintaining investment performance across all funds in line with appropriate benchmarks and industry standards. About you * Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Commerce (postgraduate finance desirable) would be highly desirable * Knowledge of investment markets and ability to process investment transactions accurately. * Strong analytical and report‑writing skills. * Ability to liaise with financial institutions, advisers and internal stakeholders. * Ability to work sensitively with clients, including those with disabilities. * Strong attention to detail, initiative and ability to follow established procedures. * Strong Excel skills and experience with financial modeling formulas. * Ability to contribute to system or process improvement. * Detailed knowledge of the operations of EXIGO and CHESS.
