Territory Generation is a Government Owned Corporation that was formed in 2014. We produce the majority of the

electricity to provide power to the people of the Northern Territory. Our vision is to be the Northern Territory’s trusted

and respected energy services business.

Leadership Responsibilities

As part of the leadership team you are accountable for building, communicating and achieving the shared vision for

Territory Generation. Key responsibilities:

Role Responsibilities

You will provide executive level strategic advice on complex major capital project contract development and management

issues across Territory Generation.

Your accountabilities include

1) Perform due diligence functions on contract formation to ensure compliance and project risk mitigation.

2) Support Project Managers and other TGen departments with key project activities including development, scoping,

contract preparation, procurement, and development of project schedules and cost estimation.

3) Provide project development and commercial advice to the development of new and related projects and future growth

opportunities.

4) Provide governance and oversight of project development processes by conducting thorough due diligence on

technical, commercial, and contractual aspects to ensure projects are delivered consistently in line with Territory

Generation’s standards and strategic objectives.

5) Manage contract administration and procurement activities for projects, with a strong emphasis on maintaining

accurate and legally compliant records to safeguard Territory Generation’s interests.

6) Lead the delivery of major capital and related projects and associated contracts using best practice project and contract

management methodologies.

7) Develop, implement and monitor risk, safety and environment systems and management plans to ensure Work Health

and Safety, environment, cultural and heritage, industrial and other council or NT Government compliance is met on

major capital projects.

8) Actively lead and perform regular audits of EPC contractors’ management plans to ensure compliance and performance.

9) Prepare comprehensive reports and advice to the Executive Director Major Projects Delivery detailing all aspects of

time, cost, risk, safety, project issues on a monthly basis or as required.

10) Maintain and enhance relationships with key stakeholders to project a positive image of Territory Generation internally

and externally.

11) Actively model Territory Generation’s Values and behave in a manner that is consistent with the Code of Conduct in

order to drive a constructive culture.

12) Carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles,

corporate values and strategies.

Selection Criteria
Essential

1) Proven ability to provide specialist advice to support Project Managers and other Territory Generation Units with key

project activities including development, scoping, contract preparation, procurement, and development of project

schedules and cost estimation.

2) Demonstrated experience in managing complex contractual situations and negotiations with a proven ability to

maintain the highest level of integrity and confidentiality.

3) Proven ability to develop and maintain effective partnerships and strategic alliances with external stakeholders and

clients, external agencies, government organisations and national energy forums, both locally and nationally.

4) Superior interpersonal skills particularly in communication, collaboration, negotiation, and conflict resolution in order to

balance competing demands and influence outcomes.

5) High level written communication skills including a proven ability to develop complex reports, submissions and

ministerial and cabinet correspondence.

6) High level project management knowledge and skills, with a proven ability to deliver high quality outcomes within

competing timeframes and drive to achieve both project and corporate objectives.

7) Sound commercial and technical judgement with conceptual, analytical, financial, planning, risk management and

problem-solving skills of a high order.

8) Commitment to safety and safe working practices.

9) Demonstrated high level knowledge of project, contract and risk management methodologies.

10) Ability to carry out duties in accordance with Territory Generation’s safety, environmental and quality policies and

corporate values and strategies.

Desirable

1) An understanding of the power industry and/or construction and the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced

environment

2) A tertiary qualification in Construction, Engineering and/or Project Management
