The Role

The SEA5000 Hunter Class Frigate Branch Technical Publications Officer will provide support to the delivery of the Technical Publications Program for the Hunter Class Frigate, through assisting with the management of the review and approval of Technical Publications and ensuring that they are delivered and ultimately accessible to the personnel on the HCF. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the delivery of a critical element of the Hunter Class Frigate.

SEA5000 Hunter Class Frigate Branch is seeking a committed and confident individual to undertake the APS6 Technical Publications Officer position, who will be responsible for assisting the HCF Integrated Logistics Support Team in activities such as;

- Assisting with the management of the review and approval of Technical Publications
- Assisting with the management of the review and approval of other contract data deliverables
- Developing and providing reports on the status of the review and approval of Technical Publications
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of the technical publications program
- Participating and liaising with various Working Groups and forums

About our Team

The Hunter Class Frigate (HCF) will be one of the most advanced warships in the world with cutting edge technology and capabilities. As Australia’s largest shipbuilding project, HCF provides the foundation for Continuous Naval Shipbuilding in Australia.

We are working with experts from the UK, USA, Canada and Europe to provide six frigates optimised for anti-submarine warfare to the Royal Australian Navy. The frigates are being constructed at the Osborne Naval Shipyard, South Australia utilising the latest production technologies.

- Experience in technical writing/authoring or in the management of a technical publications program
- Excellent interpersonal skills, sound technical verbal and written communication abilities
- Ability to review and assure the quality of work undertaken by others
- Ability to exercise knowledge and compliance with legislative frameworks
- Strong Organisational and time-management skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work both independently and in a team

Eligibility

Security Clearance:

Applicants must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance at “Negative Vetting Level 1”.
