Position Summary:
We are seeking two experienced full time Chemical Engineers to lead both formulation development and process system design in our manufacturing and R&D operations. You will play a pivotal role in developing robust chemical processes, performing hands-on quality control testing, and ensuring efficient, compliant operation of chemical systems.
Role description and key responsibilities:
 * Ensure the workplace and laboratory are safe, compliant, and aligned with health, safety, and environmental standards.
 * Design, develop, and optimise chemical processes and formulations for coatings, membranes, and other building products.
 * Monitor manufacturing process to ensure that the correct materials used, and their instructions and specifications are followed.
 * Conduct and oversee quality control testing of raw materials, in process samples and finished products, ensuring compliance with specifications.
 * Lead manufacturing scale-up of new and improved formulations, ensuring efficient transfer from lab to production.
 * Conduct technical investigations to resolve manufacturing issues and implement corrective actions.
 * Drive cost reduction and sustainability initiatives by evaluating alternative raw materials and optimising processes.
 * Provide expert technical support to manufacturing, QC, and sales teams to ensure products meet customer and regulatory expectations.
 * Prepare and maintain technical documentation, reports, and procedures to support compliance and accreditation (e.g. ISO standards).
 * Lead or contribute to continuous improvement and innovation projects, ensuring timely delivery of project milestones.
 * Report regularly on project status and provide clear technical input into business decisions.

Required education, experience and job-related skills:
 * Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering.
 * Minimum 1 years' experience in chemical, coatings, or related manufacturing industries.
 * Strong understanding of formulation, scale-up, and process optimisation.
 * Demonstrated ability to solve technical and manufacturing problems effectively.
 * Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with ability to influence stakeholders.
 * High computer literacy (QC systems, Excel, data analysis, technical reporting).
 * Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
