Position overview
Reporting to the Manager Financial Reporting & Operations, the primary outcome for this role is to provide leadership of, and is the authority on, the accounts payable (AP), Travel Finance, Purchasing Cards, accounts receivable (AR) and treasury function of the Bureau.
You will play a crucial role in managing and optimising the financial accounting operations function in a Commonwealth setting, including designing, implementing, and maintaining effective operational policies and internal control over the aforementioned functions in a Commonwealth Government context.
Key responsibilities
Provide leadership and authority over AP, Travel Finance, Purchasing Cards, AR and treasury functions.
Manage and optimise financial accounting operations, designing and implementing effective operational policies and internal controls.
Oversee all aspects of accounts payable, including invoice management, enquiries, payment processing, customer relationships and debtor management.
Supervise and develop the finance team to ensure high-quality payment and receipt functions.
Provide expertise in SAP Accounts Payable, SAP Concur, Accounts Receivable and Procurement modules.
Demonstrate confident communication skills and deep understanding of Commonwealth government financial frameworks.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential: Proven experience in financial operations within a Commonwealth or government environment; expertise in SAP (Accounts Payable, Concur, Accounts Receivable, and Procurement).
Strong leadership and team development skills; excellent communication and stakeholder management.
