About the role
An opportunity exists to join the Occupational Therapy team at Orange Health Service as a Level 3, Permanent Part-Time clinician within the General Hospital.
We are seeking to recruit a competent Occupational Therapist with the ability to provide specialist occupational therapy services to patients, carers and relatives receiving inpatient palliative care at Orange Health Service. In addition, the Occupational Therapist will also provide in-reach occupational therapy services to the Haematology & Oncology Units. The Occupational Therapist will provide high quality services to patients and their families/carers of the Western NSW Local Health District to meet the needs of those with a life limiting illness, who have complex care concerns within a multidisciplinary team model.
This position will provide clinical consultancy & guidance to Orange Health Service Occupational Therapy Department on the provision of psychosocial and environmental care for palliative patients, carers and relatives and the multidisciplinary team. In alignment with Allied Health Award the position will also be required to provide clinical supervision to Level 1/2 Occupational Therapists.
At Orange Health Service our Occupational Therapists are exposed to a range of clinical areas including Acute Care (Coronary care, ED, EDSU, ICU, Medical, Surgical), Rehabilitation, Paediatrics & Hand therapy.
We are a team of 10 when fully staffed and we are a friendly and dynamic team working as part of a large multidisciplinary team committed to providing all patients with holistic, evidence-based care focusing on patient safety and engagement.
We support and encourage our clinicians to engage in continuing professional development, much of which is provided internally be it online or face to face.
The Occupational Therapy service operates Monday to Friday – 08:00 to 16:30.
The successful applicant will work with & be supported by a senior member of the Occupational Therapy Department.
