Position: Coding Auditor / Educator – Clinical Coding Service Team – Southern Adelaide Local Health Network – Flinders Medical Centre – Finance and Corporate ServicesSalary: $98,478.00 – $104,165.00 p.a. (Pro Rata)
Responsibilities
* Conduct regular cycles of random and targeted audits to ensure accurate coding and legitimate maximisation of Casemix/ABF revenue.
* Develop and participate in the design of coding/documentation audit tools.
* Establish and implement benchmarks for coding accuracy and monitor performance against predetermined criteria, including the financial impact of changes.
* Ensure the Coding Service meets all relevant accreditation requirements from the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.
* Consult with and engage coding staff to identify training needs for the Coding Service and assist in training and mentoring of new coding staff.
Qualifications
* High level time‐management and organisational skills.
* Proven experience in basic computing skills, including the use of Microsoft Office (email, Excel, Word).
* Complex clinical coding experience with advanced competency in ICD‐10‐AM coding.
* Experience in the auditing of clinical coded data.
* Successful completion of a recognised HLT50321 Diploma of Clinical Coding Course in ICD‐10‐AM or equivalent, together with demonstrated advanced competency in ICD‐10‐AM (current edition) coding as determined by Manager.
