**About the Department**
**Radiology**
The Radiology Department provides the following services to all patients of Alfred Health and to general practitioners and specialists outside The Alfred:
- Angiography (Diagnostic and Interventional)
- Bone Densitometry
- Computed Tomography (CT Scan)
- Fluoroscopy
- Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)
- Mammography
- Urology
- Ultrasound
- General Radiography (X-ray)
- Contracted services for clinical trials
- Education
- Clinical conferences
**Nuclear Medicine**
The Nuclear Medicine and PET Department provides a comprehensive range of nuclear medicine diagnostic and therapeutic services, including positron emission tomography (PET), for inpatients and outpatients. The department includes a team of nuclear medicine specialists, nuclear medicine technologists, cardiac technologists, clerical staff and physicists. Commonly performed procedures include:
- myocardial perfusion studies
- gated cardiac blood pool scans
- renal scans
- bone scans
- gastric emptying, oesophageal transit, colonic transit
- lung scans
- thyroid scans
- brain scans
- PET scans (oncology, neurology and 68-Gallium DOTATATE and PSMA, research tracers)
- radio-iodine thyroid therapy
- Y-90 therapy for synovitis
- Lu-177 PSMA therapy for prostate cancer
**Qualifications and Skills Required**
- Appointees must be legally qualified medical practitioners, registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) without conditions, undertakings or reprimands that could impact on their clinical practice
- Fellow of the relevant colleges (FRANZCR & FAANMS)
- Demonstrable relevant knowledge and experience in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET
- Meeting Alfred Health requirements for credentialing and scope of practice in Radiology, Nuclear Medicine and PET
- Outstanding communication skills, including well-developed conflict resolution skills
- Ability to liaise well with other staff at all levels
- Demonstrated flexibility in problem solving and the capability to develop and sustain highly collaborative relationships with others/ other teams.
