We currently have an opportunity for an Integrated Broadcast Services Systems Engineer in Canberra to work on Joint projects.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Systems Engineer in Canberra to work on Joint projects.
What You\'ll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
Engineering Management Planning : Contribute to the development and maintenance of bespoke Engineering Management Plans (EMP) and related artefacts in alignment with ASDEFCON (Support) standards.
Schedule-Driven Execution & Assurance : Execute engineering plans in accordance with Product Schedules, Work Take On agreements, and contractual obligations, ensuring timely and compliant delivery.
System Safety & Configuration Integrity : Define and maintain a System Safety Management System and ensure product baselines, including ILS and logistics data, are technically sound and delivered as scheduled.
Stakeholder Engagement & Governance : Engage with stakeholder boards (e.g., DDG for ICT releases) to ensure conformance without compromising project timelines or budgets.
Workforce & Capability Planning : Incorporate workforce attributes, technical authority requirements, and logistics factors such as Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Supportability into engineering planning.
What You\'ll Bring
Delivery of Defence-Aligned Engineering Services : Provide timely, high-quality engineering support that meets Defence operational needs and Capability Manager requirements under JC2SPO agreements.
Technical Authority & Professional Standards : Ensure Engineering & Technical (E&T) team members are appropriately trained, qualified, and authorised to perform work on behalf of the Commonwealth.
Configuration & Baseline Management : Maintain formal configuration control of product baselines and evolve allocated baselines in line with system reviews and project milestones.
Safety Assurance & Risk Management : Develop and maintain safety plans and systems of work, ensuring risks are identified, eliminated, or mitigated, and documented in Safety Case Reports.
Compliance with Defence Engineering Frameworks : Develop plans and artefacts guided by CASG EMP, Defence CDM, T&E Manual, and other regulatory frameworks, ensuring interoperability and governance.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
