About Us
The GSSM Local Mental Health Registered Psychiatric Nurse will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing specialist mental health nursing assessment, therapeutic intervention, care and support to individuals accessing the local service. They will be part of a team of mental health clinicians and lived experience staff who provide a new front door service to all adults seeking mental health interventions and support within the Goulburn Valley area.
This role involves working in tandem with clinical and other supports to assist service users to access the full range of interventions across the care continuum. The nurse will work with various factors affecting service users within their scope of practice including cognitive, occupational, physical and social matters to deliver client-focused approaches for recovery-oriented care.
* Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse;
* Postgraduate Diploma (or higher) in Mental Health Nursing and have at least 5 years of experience as an RPN;
* Expert understanding and working knowledge of the Mental Health & Wellbeing Act; and
* Highly developed specialist mental health nursing skills stemming from experience in community-based mental health nursing and community liaison.
