Our client is a leading provider of health services into Australia's prisons and correctional centres and has been supporting patients and adult prisoners across Victoria's prison system for over 30 years.
We have a number of full, part-time & casual positions across metro and regional Melbourne and greater Victoria (Lara and Castlemaine) for experienced Medical Officers and Senior Medical Practitioners.
Senior Medical Officers (SMO) provide and supervise medical care to prisoners and those in custody by delivering and evacuation medical program and services operating in the facility.
The SMO also coordinates the hours of service and 'on-call' responsibilities in consultation with the Health Services Manager and Director, Medical Services and partakes in the clinical roster.
Medical Officers (MO) positions are offered on a full/part-time or casual basis, partaking in the clinical roster.
Skills and Experience:
The ideal candidates will have:
* Fellowship of either the RACGP / ACRRM of RNZCGP (Mandatory).
* Documentary evidence of medical indemnity insurance.
* A minimum of 2 years post-graduate experience.
* High written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team (including supporting Allied Health & Nurse Practitioner)
* Demonstrated competence in provision of high-quality care.
* Willingness to undertake regular professional development relevant to the position.
* Computer skills relevant to the role.
* Experience in mental health, drug and alcohol and emergency care. (Desirable)
Other Requirements of the role:
* Valid Australian driver's licence and the ability to travel between locations.
* A full driver's licence is required for this position.
* Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
* Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
* Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
* Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required - including participation in an on-call roster.
SMO - $400k + Super (Pro-Rata)
MO (Full/Part-time) - $350k + Super (Pro-Rata)
MO (Casual) - $300k + Super (Pro-Rata)
