The National Gallery requires a highly driven finance professional to lead the optimization and integration of its financial management systems, technology, and processes. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, this role involves hands-on leadership of a small team responsible for managing the Gallery's financial framework, policies, internal controls, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Motivate and guide the finance team to support streamlined processes and continual improvement in financial management.
2. Develop and maintain the internal control framework, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and good governance.
3. Manage workplans and workflows for timely and accurate financial operations, including accounts payable/receivable, credit card management, month-end processes, tax compliance, and government reporting.
4. Maintain the asset register, including valuation and stocktake of infrastructure, equipment, and the $6.8 billion National Collection, in line with accounting standards and management practices.
5. Deliver accurate annual financial statements and records for the Foundation, Trust Accounts, and consolidated statements, with quality assurance, detailed reconciliations, and insightful analysis.
6. Build collaborative relationships internally and externally, including liaison with auditors.
7. Ensure the integrity of financial systems, controls, and records.
8. Optimize and integrate TechnologyOne with other systems to improve efficiency.
