Reliable Database Engineer Role
Crowdstrike protects modern organizations, stopping breaches and redefining security with its AI-native platform. The database reliability engineer works on large-scale distributed systems, processing almost 3 trillion events daily. Key Responsibilities
* Maintain a deep understanding of data components, including Cassandra, Elasticsearch/Kafka, ZooKeeper, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, and use this understanding to operate and automate properly configured clusters.
* Understand operating databases in Kubernetes and managing container images.
* Develop infrastructure services to support the engineering team's pursuit of a full DevOps model.
* Work closely with engineering and customer support to troubleshoot time-sensitive production issues.
* Keep petabytes of critical business data safe, secure, and available.
The database reliability engineers work on high-profile projects from day one, ensuring the scalability and availability of Crowdstrike's cloud-based solutions. They are part of a highly collaborative environment working closely with teams across Eng, Prod Ops, and Product Management to design and deliver scalable and reliable database solutions for Crowdstrike's cloud-native platform.
Requirements
* Configuration management using Chef.
* Scripting in Python and Bash.
* Experience with large-scale datastores using technologies like Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Kafka, ZooKeeper, and MySQL.
* Experience with large-scale business-critical Linux environments.
* Experience operating within the cloud, preferably Amazon Web Services, GCP, and OCI.
* Proven ability to work effectively with both local and remote teams.
* Track record of making great decisions, particularly when it matters most.
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
* A combination of confidence and independence with the prudence to know when to ask for help from the rest of the team.
* Bachelor's degree in an applicable field, such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or Engineering.
