Team Leader – Women's Health and Sexual Assault Support Service.
Position Summary
To provide leadership, support and management to a team of women's health counsellors to ensure the delivery of high‐quality responses to women. To facilitate the implementation of best practice in a feminist service through the development, establishment and management of new and current programmes/models, including establishment of practice guides utilising specialist knowledge.

Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in social work, counselling, psychology or a related field.
* Essential registrations:
o Current Working with Children Blue Card.
o Current valid Queensland, Open, C class driving licence.
o Right to work (Australian/New Zealand passport; Australian/New Zealand birth certificate or citizenship certificate or passport and visa)
Requirements
* Five or more years experience in the sexual assault support field, counselling or related areas.
* Strong leadership and team management skills, including the ability to supervise, coach and mentor staff.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with highly developed analytical and writing skills to produce submissions, policies and reports.
* Ability to manage complex cases.
* Knowledge and experience in incorporating a feminist analysis of sexual violence against women.
* Demonstrated knowledge and practice of trauma‐informed service delivery relevant to working with women impacted by sexual violence.
* Ability to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
* High level of organisational and strategic planning skills.
* Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
* Commitment to client‐centred, strengths‐based practice.
* Strong problem‐solving and decision‐making capabilities.
* High level of integrity and ethical standards.
Responsibilities
* Apply specialist knowledge to achieve organisational objectives and demonstrate commitment to social justice and feminism.
* Oversee and meet the requirements of the Service Agreements with the Department of Justice and Attorney‐General.
* Lead and manage the team delivering sexual assault and women's health and well‐being services, providing direction related to counselling, casework, court support and SART.
* Maintain personal safety and stress levels of self and team, taking appropriate action.
* Contribute to the development and oversight of a staffed Service, provide discipline advice to the Management Committee, and liaise with other organisations including police and medical professionals.
* Provide referrals and advocacy within the medical and legal systems.
* Deliver staff training, coaching and mentoring, and supervise tertiary level students as required.
* Plan, lead and conduct reviews and evaluations of current practice, ensuring the Health & Sexual Assault Service Practice Guide is up to date.
* Implement continuous improvement and quality management initiatives, reviewing policies and procedures in line with HSQF requirements.
* Ensure compliance with legal requirements and keep up to date with legislative changes.
* Prepare and submit reports, funding and policy submissions within required deadlines.
* Represent the organisation at network meetings and initiate stakeholder meetings where appropriate.
* Plan efficient work schedules and manage attendance and rosters in consultation with the CEO and other leaders.
* Use the current case‐management system, monitor usage and record monthly statistics.
* Provide case study data and statistics for project work or reports.
* Participate in professional development, staff training and supervision.
* Lead and participate in meetings to formulate policy, meet HSQF requirements and plan future directions of the Service.
* Respond to on‐call support for sexual assault victims.
* Deliver community education and training on sexual assault to organisations and educational institutions.
* Develop partnerships and improve pathways for clients by collaborating with health, police, council, victims assist, homelessness services and others.
* Facilitate social action responses such as International Women's Day, Reclaim the Night and Sexual Violence Awareness Month.
* Maintain active involvement in partnerships, networks, peak body forums.
* Participate in the Townsville Sexual Assault Response Team, providing 24‐hour on‐call crisis care, specialist support and information on victim rights.
* Ensure confidentiality and appropriate sharing of personal information in line with best practice.
* Other duties as requested by the CEO and/or Management Committee.
