Job Title: Team Leader, Payroll Services

Role Summary

Payroll Services is a dynamic team within the Business Services Branch. We deliver fortnightly pays to over 8,000 employees using SAP in a complex and fast-paced environment.

We are responsible for the administration of conditions of service and entitlements for AFP employees, including processing of pay, leave and superannuation. Our goal is to provide a high-quality, accurate and timely service to the AFP and its members.

Key Responsibilities:

* Provide Leadership: Contribute to organisational outcomes as part of a team.
* Team Management: Guide and manage team members responsible for delivery of Payroll Services.
* Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with stakeholders to manage, prioritise and align payroll activities, systems and processes.
* Project Delivery: Undertake project and processing activities in accordance with relevant governance, frameworks and timeframes.
* Quality Service: Deliver quality service and professional practices and standards, including the application of legislation, policy and employment instruments.
* Communication: Communicate payroll outcomes both in writing and verbally to employees, management and in formal briefs.
* Business Improvement: Influence and implement business improvements related to operational practices, procedures and guidelines.
* Payroll Processing: Undertake payroll processing, including calculating employee entitlements and processing complex cases in accordance with strict deadlines.
* Currency of Knowledge: Maintain currency in subject matter expertise through ongoing professional development and learning opportunities.
* Administrative Duties: Undertake general administrative duties associated with payroll activities.
