Overview
With a rich history dating back to 1814, the heritage building on the corner of Argyle and Macquarie has been a cornerstone of the Hobart community. The pub evolved from the city\'s first post office into a beloved venue, and now we open a new chapter focused on a thoughtfully curated food and beverage offering that caters to traditional and diverse tastes at affordable prices. The menu will feature local produce sourced through ongoing collaborations with supply partners for contemporary modern Australian pub fare.
The Head Chef is responsible for managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including budgets, staffing, menus and meal preparation, and ensuring effective execution of daily food, beverage operations and catering needs.
Service will be lunch and dinner with average shifts around 6 hours. The pub will be opening in September and you will receive extensive training on our wine list, menu and operations prior to opening. The venue will be open most days midday to 10pm (Thursday to Saturday until midnight; Sunday is lunch service only). These times are a guide as the venue opening times may vary.
