LET'S EXPLORE THE JOB
As our Site Supervisor Asphalt, you'll be part of the City Infrastructure team and responsible for delivering asphalt components of Council's resurfacing program, capital works, routine maintenance and Transport for NSW projects. You'll supervise internal staff and contractors completing a wide range of asphalt activities including heavy patching, overlays, mill and resheet, deep lift and final wearing courses. You'll also take part in planning and scheduling components of resurfacing programs, including validation and mark ups, preparation works and surface treatments.
Your role ensures works are safe, efficient and compliant with all relevant specifications, quality standards and WHS legislation. You'll determine quantities, manage plant and materials, monitor costs and contribute to budget management.
The position may have opportunities for overtime, weekend work and on‐call allowances in addition to your competitive salary.
Our ideal candidate has extensive hands‐on experience in asphalt operations, including supervising teams and contractors. You'll have the practical know‐how needed to set out works to tight tolerances, read complex plans and maintain high quality workmanship.
You will also bring:
* Minimum Certificate III in a field relevant to local government civil construction activities or demonstrated extensive experience in asphalt operations.
* Proven experience in a comparable position, with advanced expertise in asphalt operations and experience in the supervision of contract and subcontract services to QA specifications and / or TfNSW standards
* Ability to read and apply complex plans, specifications and set works to very low tolerances as required by various specifications.
* Experience in traffic management and related specifications including Traffic Control at Work Sites Technical Manual
* Experience in controlling the costs of works including actively capturing costs and assisting in the management of budgets
* Experience in quality assurance testing including following Inspection and Test Plans, level set out and control and testing
* Demonstrated commitment to providing high level customer service.
* Experience with computer software and applications on mobile devices.
* NSW Construction Induction card or recognised equivalent.
* Class C Driver's licence.
