Job Title: Senior AWS Cloud Network Engineer – Major Defence Cloud Gateway Join a high-profile digital transformation program delivering a secure, cloud-native gateway that connects users, systems and partners across a complex Defence environment.
As a Senior AWS Network Engineer, you'll design and implement robust cloud networking, uplift an existing MVP gateway, and play a key role in testing, validating and optimising a mission-critical solution.
Location Canberra, ACT or Melbourne, VIC Contract Details Contract Duration: 6 months with extensions Contract Start: ASAP Security Clearance Requirement: NV1 Closing Date: 10:00am, Friday 19 September **** Essential Tasks Lead the design and implementation of secure, cost-effective AWS network infrastructure (VPCs, subnets, route tables, NAT/Transit Gateways, AWS Network Firewall, VPNs).
Support enhancement of a cloud-native secure edge gateway MVP, including documentation uplift, remediation and delivery assurance.
Diagnose and resolve complex network performance and connectivity issues, optimising configurations to meet SLAs.
Contribute to testing and validation activities, including reviewing deployments, addressing POAM items, and maintaining detailed design and troubleshooting documentation.
Key Criteria Strong experience as a Senior Network Engineer designing and operating AWS cloud networking (VPC, subnets, Transit Gateway, VPN, AWS Network Firewall) in large or secure environments.
Proven expertise in diagnosing and tuning network performance in AWS, with a focus on resilience, scalability and security best practice.
Experience collaborating with cloud architects, DevOps and multi-discipline teams, and producing high-quality technical documentation (e.g. SED/SCD).
Exposure to Infrastructure as Code tooling such as Terraform and/or CloudFormation to automate AWS network deployments.
