Aquatic Leisure Technologies (ALT) has helped WA families dive into their backyard dreams for nearly 50 years. We're WA's most trusted and awarded pool brand—and we're looking for a postgraduate Chemical Engineer who loves turning ideas into tested, scalable reality.
What you'll do (the fun stuff)
* Conduct literature reviews and remain current with scientific advancements, patents, and emerging technologies.
* Identify gaps and opportunities in existing processes or products to develop innovative solutions.
* Develop novel chemical processes, materials, or formulations aligned with company or project objectives.
* Design and execute laboratory-scale experiments to investigate chemical reactions, material properties, and process conditions.
* Utilise Design of Experiments methodology and statistical tools to plan experiments and analyse results.
* Operate and troubleshoot analytical instruments.
* Collect, interpret, and model data to establish correlations and predictive models.
* Prepare technical reports including conclusions, recommendations, and proposed next steps.
* Support intellectual property generation through technical validation and reporting
* Work closely with production, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure new processes and products meet all standards.
* Ensure all experimental work complies with Occupational Health and Safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
What you'll bring
* Postgraduate qualifications in Chemical Engineering or a closely related field. Chemical Engineers are preferred; however, Mechanical Engineers and Civil Engineers with expertise in materials (particularly composites) and relevant chemical knowledge are encouraged to apply.
* Strong curiosity combined with rigorous analytical skills; experience with Design of Experiments, statistical analysis, and deriving decisions from complex data.
* Practical laboratory experience and proficiency with analytical instruments.
* Knowledge of operating milling machines and similar equipment is highly beneficial.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, actionable technical reports.
* A proactive, builder's mindset: focused on prototyping, testing, learning, and scaling solutions.
