Join our Healthcare Security Talent Pool in Fremantle & Rockingham!We are currently seeking experienced and skilled individuals to join our talent pool for on-call and consistent Security Officer roles providing security specials and patrolling services for healthcare facilities across in Fremantle & Rockingham. Role Overview:Successful applicants will be considered for various roles that may range from ad-hoc assignments to consistent response positions. Security Officers play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment within a range of healthcare facilities in Fremantle & Rockingham. Your duties as a Healthcare Security Officer include:
Maintain continuous observation of assigned patients, always remaining alert and focused.Perform patient sit duties within the healthcare facility whilst remaining at proximity to the patient.Attend to all clinical requirements, including, but not limited to medication being given out to patients, Doctor reviews and medical examination in the observation room.Respond to all incidents, such as Code Blacks, patient escorts to seclusion and any form of control and restraints.Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure a secure environment for all.Surveillance of patients admitted to hospital for a range of mental health concerns.First responder to incidents and emergencies.Apply control and restraint techniques as needed.Document and report observations and incidents in accordance with company and healthcare policies.Maintain physical fitness for a 12-hour shift, day or night, including the ability to lift 40kg+ and engage in push/pull activities.Handle incidents involving patients with sensitive mental health issues, ranging from substance abuse, aggression/violence, or self-harm.Selection Criteria:Certificate II in Security Operations and at least two years' experience in security or related field and demonstrate experience in the conduct of security operations.Demonstrated, (excellent) verbal and non-verbal communication skills, including active listening, conflict resolution, empathy, and de-escalation techniques in stressful situations.Effective written communication skills including the ability to produce well-structured and comprehensive reports.Demonstrated ability to work with a minimum of supervision, within a team environment.Demonstrated experience in dealing with people from a culturally diverse background, mental health issues, and people with disabilities.Willing and able to work in Fremantle & Rockingham areas.Skills and qualifications required:Valid WA Security Officer licenceValid First Aid qualificationRight to work in AustraliaWorking With Children's card (or willingness to obtain)Infection Control Training (or willingness to obtain)Vaccination history or serology evidence of immunity (including HepB, HepC and tetanus shots).Proficient in self-defence techniquesDemonstrated minimum fitness level2 years' experience in a response level position in crowd control or another relevant role.Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality.Exhibit excellent communication skills crucial for interactions with patients, including proficiency in de-escalation techniques.The competency to apply safe and appropriate physical intervention techniques when needed.Proven experience with handling conflict confidently and professionally, including responding to difficult or aggressive behaviour.A composed nature who can work in a fast-paced, high-pressure, and at times confronting environment.Any of the following are highly regarded (not essential):Defence Force experience.Mental health awareness training.Strong Healthcare Security or Crowd Control experience.Medical, Aged care or youth worker background.Skills and qualifications you will gain:Aggression Prevention and Intervention (API) TrainingControl and Restraint TrainingHospital InductionBenefits of joining Vault Protective Security Services:Weekly pay cycle.Flexible scheduling for ad-hoc assignmentsOpportunities for career advancement and professional developmentFulfilling work in a mission-driven environmentContributing to the well-being of patients and healthcare professionals
