A large NSW public sector organisation is embarking on one of its most significant technology modernisation initiatives, a multi‑year transformation program focused on how critical operational data is managed, governed, and utilised. As part of this major uplift, legacy data currently spread across numerous standalone and interfacing systems will be transitioned into a new, consolidated environment.
To support this flagship programme, we are seeking an Associate Director – Core Data & Analytics, a senior delivery leader who can shape and drive a complex, enterprise‑scale data migration initiative from strategy through to execution.
The Opportunity

You will guide early-stage planning, procurement, vendor engagement, and architectural decisions, ensuring the programme is set up for long‑term success. This is a delivery‑focused leadership role, similar in breadth to a Program Manager, providing direction across multiple workstreams and ensuring alignment across technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, planning, and delivery approach for a high‑profile, multi‑year data migration programme.
Drive strategy and architecture discussions relating to the transition from legacy platforms into modern data environments.
Oversee end‑to‑end procurement activities, including market engagement, evaluation, vendor selection, and commercial negotiation.
Manage delivery partners and system integrators, ensuring performance, value for money, and clear accountability.
Establish strong governance, reporting rhythms, risk management practices, and programme controls.
Coordinate effectively across business units to manage dependencies, integration points, and change impacts.
Support operational readiness, ensuring new capabilities and services are properly embedded.
Provide leadership to project managers and technical teams, fostering a collaborative and transparent delivery culture.
Essential Requirements
You will bring deep experience delivering large‑scale data migration and data‑centric transformation programs within complex or regulated environments. You are highly skilled in navigating ambiguity, managing senior stakeholders, and setting programmes up for success from inception.
You will also have:
Demonstrated experience leading complex, multi‑stream programs with significant interdependencies.
Strong understanding of data platforms, legacy‑to‑modern migration challenges, and enterprise architecture considerations.
Proven capability overseeing major procurement processes and managing vendors/system integrators.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and influencing skills, with the ability to build trust at executive level.
A proactive, delivery‑focused mindset and the ability to maintain momentum in high‑pressure environments.
Experience ensuring new services/capabilities are operationally ready and successfully transitioned.
Why Apply?
Join a major public-sector transformation with high visibility and organisational impact.
Lead a flagship program that will fundamentally reshape data capability for years to come.
