The Role
We're seeking a dynamic and passionate Teacher to deliver the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) in Casuarina. This is more than a teaching role-it's a chance to change lives. You'll help adult learners, many with little or no English literacy, gain essential language, literacy, numeracy, and digital skills to succeed in their new communities.
What you'll do:
* Deliver accredited training and assessment aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework
* Design creative, flexible lessons tailored to diverse learner needs
* Support students through rolling intake and ongoing assessments
* Build strong relationships with learners and community partners
* Participate in cultural and community engagement activities
* Contribute to continuous improvement and professional development
Hours: Casual, 20-30 hours per week, through December 2026 with the potential to be extended.
What We're Looking For
* A recognised undergraduate degree (minimum 3 years) PLUS:
* Postgraduate TESOL qualification in Adult Education (preferred), OR
* Bachelor of Education with TESOL major (including practicum)
* Experience teaching English to speakers of other languages
* Ability to engage culturally diverse learners with empathy and creativity
* Strong communication, planning, and record-keeping skills
Essential: Current Driver Licence, OCHRE Card (Registration to Work with Vulnerable People), and ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
