Where you'll be working
Armidale Hospital is a key regional health service delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to the community. As the After Hours Clinical Nurse Educator, you will work across the hospital outside standard business hours, including evenings, nights, and weekends.

You'll join a collaborative and supportive team, including the Hospital Nurse Educator, After Hours Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing (DON), Clinical Nurse Consultants (CNC), and fellow educators. The role is part of a connected network of professional development, monthly educator meetings, and ongoing learning opportunities.

About The Role
This is a leadership role where your clinical expertise will directly impact patient care and staff development beyond standard hours. You will:

* Deliver, coordinate, and evaluate high-quality clinical education programs tailored to staff and student needs.
* Mentor and support nurses to confidently meet professional standards within their scope of practice.
* Contribute to research, quality improvement initiatives, and the continuous enhancement of clinical practice.
* Work closely with Nurse Management, Hospital Nurse Educator, and Clinical Nurse Consultants, ensuring guidance, collaboration, and support every step of the way.

This role combines autonomy with strong support, giving you the opportunity to shape safer, more effective clinical practice while staying connected to a network of experienced educators and leaders.

About You
You are a passionate, experienced nurse and educator who thrives in a dynamic, after-hours clinical environment. You bring:

* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
* Relevant post-registration clinical or education qualifications, or equivalent clinical and education experience.
* Workplace Training and Assessment Cert IV, or willingness to obtain.
* Credentialed as a DETECT and DETECT Junior trainer, or willingness to obtain.
* Credentialed in Triage and ALS, or willingness to obtain.
* Strong communication, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
* A commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous improvement, and professional development.

You are confident leading clinical education, building relationships, and fostering a culture of learning and excellence across the hospital.
