A leading mechanical services provider, operating for over 14 years, is seeking a motivated, and hands‑on Stock Co‑ordinator / Controller to join its growing team located at Rocklea. This is a critical role supporting workshop operations—ensuring accurate stock control, parts coordination, and timely delivery for both internal and external customers.
Success in this role requires attention to detail, speed, and a solid understanding of mechanical parts and workshop logistics. You'll work closely with technicians, service teams, and suppliers to keep things moving efficiently along with supporting mechanical maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage ordering, receiving, stocking, and distribution of vehicle parts, consumables, and fluids.
* Coordinate workshop inventory, supplier relationships, and parts movement.
* Maintain accurate stock records through regular stocktakes and audits.
* Allocate parts to jobs and reconcile against invoices and workshop systems.
* Operate internal systems for job planning, parts quoting, and customer/technician support.
* Fulfil and dispatch online store orders, manage delivery schedules, and ensure inventory accuracy.
* Perform local pickup and delivery runs as required.
* Handle timely returns of excess or incorrect parts.
* Maintain storeroom organisation, cleanliness, and WHS compliance.
* Support basic mechanical tasks such as flywheel, rotor, and drum machining, and assist with DPF cleaning/inspection.
Skills and experience required:
* Previous experience in a stock control or workshop coordination role within the mechanical, automotive, or heavy vehicle industry.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively across technicians, admin, and sales.
* Proven ability to manage stock records, invoicing, and job costing.
* Familiarity with MechanicDesk and Xero (highly desirable, but not essential).
* High attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean, organised workspace.
* Willingness to learn and support mechanical processes such as DPF cleaning and component machining.
* Proactive, self‑motivated, and reliable work ethic.
Mandatory Licences:
* Forklift Licence (LF)
* Open Australian Driver's Licence (MR Licence desirable)
