Cabinet Solutions Limited Partnership is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Wood Machinist (nec) to join our dynamic cabinet-making production team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be the cornerstone of our manufacturing process, responsible for the precise preparation, machining, and finishing of all timber and panel components. This role demands a high level of technical accuracy, a deep understanding of woodworking machinery, and the ability to interpret complex technical documentation to ensure components are produced with uncompromising quality and consistency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
· Work from technical drawings, production diagrams, cutting lists, and measurements to guide accurate preparation of cabinet components.
· Where necessary, prepare or adjust basic workshop sketches or diagrams to clarify complex dimensions, machining requirements, or assembly details for production staff.
· Assist with preparing, setting up, and operating relevant woodworking equipment as part of the cabinet-making workflow.
· Measure, mark, cut, shape, and finish timber components in line with project specifications.
· Conduct rigorous quality and dimension checks on all components using precision measuring tools to ensure they meet required standards and project specifications before moving to assembly.
· Perform routine preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubricating, minor adjustments) on all machinery and cutting tools to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
· Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, strictly following all Work Health and Safety (WHS) guidelines and operating procedures.
· Collaborate effectively with supervisors, Cabinet Makers, and production staff to confirm details, troubleshoot issues, and ensure seamless consistency across the entire manufacturing workflow.
· Assist in the material handling and secure storage of prepared components.
Qualifications:
· Completion of an accredited Trade Certificate or Apprenticeship in Wood Machining, Cabinet Making, Joinery, or a related discipline.
· A minimum of 2 years of practical experience as a Wood Machinist or similar role in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
· Demonstrated competency in setting up and operating both conventional and CNC woodworking machinery.
· Proven ability to accurately read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and production schedules.
· Thorough understanding and adherence to WHS principles and safe operating procedures for woodworking machinery.
· Ability to identify machining issues and troubleshoot equipment setup efficiently.

Pay: $77,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
