Job Description
Downer Rail & Transit Systems is seeking a passionate and driven Project Delivery Assurance professional to support and enhance the delivery lifecycle of critical projects across our network. In this role, you will ensure compliance, quality, and consistency in line with The Downer Standard’s Delivery Management Methodology. You will embed best practices, facilitate integrated project reviews, and strengthen our Integrated Management System.
About The Role
As a Project Delivery Assurance, you will lead and coordinate project delivery reviews to ensure alignment with Downer’s delivery management standards. You will analyze project compliance, performance, and risk independently. Your role includes improving management systems through continuous initiatives, partnering with internal teams and stakeholders to align practices, tools, and documentation, and maintaining the Delivery assurance program through audits, workshops, and monitoring improvement actions. You will also participate in ISO certification and audit readiness, and represent RTS on Downer Group committees to influence system and standard evolution.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Quality, Zero Harm, Risk Management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Lead and support internal audits and assurance activities.
Facilitate compliance training and awareness sessions across RTS.
Identify and manage project and organizational risks with stakeholders.
Monitor system effectiveness and compliance through reviews and reporting.
Support process optimization and standardization across departments.
What We’re Looking For
Qualifications & Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil) – desirable but not essential.
Audit Qualifications (Lead Auditor preferred).
Project Management qualifications or equivalent experience – highly regarded.
Experience in developing, implementing, and maintaining Integrated Management Systems.
Strong knowledge of ISO standards, compliance frameworks, and risk management.
Industry experience in rail, engineering, or asset-intensive environments – highly desirable.
Skills & Attributes:
Ability to lead audits, conduct risk assessments, and implement improvements.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in report writing and procedures.
Ability to engage stakeholders at all levels and promote collaboration.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).
