A leading resources business is seeking an experienced Specialist Local Sourcing professional to support its Supply function on a 6-month contract commencing mid-January. With continued investment across the region, this role offers the chance to contribute to a high-performing commercial team during a period of growth.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Lead Category Management, you'll play a key role in sourcing critical goods and services and ensuring strong commercial outcomes. This is a hands‑on role suited to someone confident, proactive and comfortable working autonomously.
You'll be responsible for:
* Developing scopes of work and sourcing strategies
* Leading supplier negotiations to secure cost, quality and supply certainty
* Managing purchase orders and contract amendments
* Conducting market intelligence and supporting supplier development
* Applying total cost of ownership principles
* Contributing to stakeholder meetings and category planning
What You Bring
* 3–5 years' experience in commercial or supply roles (Mining or Heavy Industry ideal)
* Strong understanding of Sourcing-to-Contract processes and supply chain fundamentals
* Proven capability in supplier negotiations and relationship management
* Solid analytical skills with the ability to use data to drive commercial decisions
* Confident communicator with initiative and the ability to operate with minimal supervision
* Relevant qualifications in supply chain, commercial, or similar
