About the Business:
THAI ON RUTHVEN is a well-established, authentic Thai restaurant in the heart of Toowoomba. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional dining experiences through our traditional cuisine and vibrant atmosphere. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Chef to join our dedicated team.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes to a high standard.
- Manage food preparation and service during busy periods.
- Assist with menu planning and development.
- Order supplies and manage inventory levels.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
- Train and supervise junior kitchen staff.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience working as a qualified Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Minimum 1 year of proven experience in preparing authentic Thai cuisine is essential.
- Formal qualification in Commercial Cookery (minimum Certificate III in Commercial Cookery) is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, including food safety standards (HACCP).
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, both independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Flexible availability to work on weekends and evenings as required.
- A current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one) may be required.
