Our client are a QLD government legislative office and they are seeking a Legal Privacy Specialist (AO6) to join their team on a 3 month basis with potential to extend.
This role will provide significant support to the Privacy Team Lead and will support the supervision of privacy officers in the team. Focused on all aspects of privacy for the company, this role will be busy and challenging. You will oversee all activities related to the development, implementation, maintenance, and adherence to the organisation's policies and procedures covering the privacy of, and access to information in compliance with federal and state laws .
Some tasks could include; Develop and Implement Legal Privacy Policies, Monitor Legal Compliance, Conduct Legal Privacy Impact Assessments, Legal Privacy Training and Awareness, Handle Privacy Queries, Stay Updated on Privacy Legislation, Respond to Legal Privacy Breaches, Ensure Compliance with Data Transfer Practices: Conduct Audits and collaborate with Legal and Operational Teams giving legal advice on privacy as needed.
Ideally you will be degree educated ( Legally qualified is advantageous) and hold a minimum of 2 years experience of working in privacy and have a good understanding of privacy laws and regulations. As an individual you will have excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills and possess the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and integrity.
