About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the education of Aboriginal and Islander students. As an Aboriginal and Islander Education Officer, you will play a key role in improving their educational outcomes by providing them with the support they need to succeed.
Key Responsibilities
* Work closely with teachers and other staff members to develop and implement educational programs that meet the needs of Aboriginal and Islander students.
* Provide individualized support to students, including academic support, social support, and cultural support.
* Assist teachers in implementing behavior management programs and provide guidance on effective classroom management techniques.
* Collaborate with community members, parents, and guardians to develop and implement strategies that promote student success.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide policies and procedures that promote equity and inclusion.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A strong understanding of Aboriginal and Islander cultures and histories.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including students, teachers, parents, and community members.
* Demonstrated commitment to promoting equity and inclusion in education.
* High level of energy and enthusiasm for working with students and colleagues.
