The Department of Home Affairs is responsible for centrally coordinated strategy and policy leadership in relation to domestic national security arrangements, law enforcement, emergency management, counter-terrorism, social cohesion, the protection of our sovereignty, the integrity of our border and the resilience of our national infrastructure.
The Australian Border Force, an operationally independent body within the Department of Home Affairs, is Australia's frontline border law enforcement agency and Australia's customs service. The Australian Border Force's mission is to protect Australia's border and facilitate the legitimate movement of people and goods across it.
**About the roles**:
Recruitment, Payroll & People Systems Capability Branch provides corporate support in the areas of recruitment, pay and entitlements, organisational structure management, HR systems, and management of staff debt.
The Branch provides HR services to all state and regional offices, encompassing all areas of the Department of Home Affairs. All of our great teams work collaboratively, foster innovation, share knowledge and support one another in this important service-focused departmental function, ensuring we all deliver our required goals.
Roles are currently available across multiple teams and include Payroll Manager, Support Connect HR Manger (Helpdesk), Recruitment Team Leader and HR Systems Advisors.

**You also may have (desirable)**:
- Experience in payroll, recruitment, HR systems or accounting within a large government or private organisation and/or relevant qualifications.
**Duties**:
- Lead a team, including setting operational priorities, being accountable for deliverables and maintaining team cohesion
- Build team capability through coaching, performance feedback, and encouraging career development
- Collaboratively work with staff and leaders across the organisation, maintaining relationships with key stakeholders
- Lead system enhancements, and conduct routine and targeted quality control assurance activities
- Manage and maintain accurate data and records
- Plan, lead and drive continuous improvement projects and initiatives.
