Delaware North Australia is hiring a Senior Event Manager for a 9 month contract position to join our team at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). As a Senior Event Manager, you will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of a wide range of events from concept to completion. What you will do?

Own events post‑handover, leading end‑to‑end planning and delivery from concept through completion in line with agreed scope and objectives
Develop and execute event concepts, plans, run sheets, and timelines across a diverse portfolio of event types
Manage all event logistics including venue setup, catering, AV/technical requirements, transport, security, entertainment, and suppliers
Act as the primary client contact, managing communication, briefings, site inspections, feedback, and post‑event debriefs and reporting
Lead onsite operations including bump‑in/bump‑out, operational team briefings, and real‑time issue resolution
Oversee event budgets, financial reconciliation, documentation, and reporting while mentoring and supporting the event management team

More About You

Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, or a related discipline
5–7 years' experience in event management across a variety of event types and sizes
Proven ability to lead high-profile events from concept to delivery
Strong vendor and stakeholder management experience
Demonstrated ability to manage event budgets and financial outcomes
Project/event management certifications (e.g., PMP, CSEP) are advantageous
Available to commence in April 2026 for a 9 month (approximate) contract position.
