About this role: As a Specialist, you will be responsible for tracking and monitoring ended tenancies, managing rent and non-rent arrears, and representing the organization at the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
Main Responsibilities:
* Track and monitor ended tenancies in the ACT for Ainslie Village, Common Ground, and Conder.
* Monitor and manage rent and non-rent arrears in the ACT for current clients, greater than 14 days.
* Follow policies and procedures related to rent/debt recovery and issue associated breaches.
* Collate documentation and evidence in a formal, professional bundle for ACAT.
* Represent the organization at the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal.
* Work collaboratively with internal functions to ensure client needs are addressed and other functions are updated with relevant information.
* Maintain and update client records and file notes in the tenancy management system.
* Undertake administration tasks related to ending a tenancy, finalizing a client's rental account, and further actions, including communications with former clients.
* Undergo debt write-off process for all ACT tenancies and occupancies.
* Adhere to document expectations and maintain practice and performance against National Community Housing Standards.
Key Requirements:
* Understanding of issues affecting disadvantaged groups and those with complex housing needs.
* Previous administration experience.
* Experience managing a portfolio of tenancies or case load.
* Exceptional customer service and ability to work as part of a diverse team.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and software operating systems.
* Able to take initiative and improve processes and procedures to achieve positive outcomes for clients and stakeholders.
* Experience dealing with complaints to achieve positive outcomes.
