Your role at St John of God Geelong Hospital
The Grade 4 Instrument Technician performs a senior role in CSD.
They are expected to carry out all the duties of the Grade 3 Instrument Tech (processing autoclaving and distributing sterile supplies to all internal and external customers) with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
The Position
Process autoclaving and distribute sterile supplies to all internal and external customers.
Liaise with all staff in the Operating Suite to assist with the provision of individual holistic care, ensuring the highest standard of safe and skilled practice consistent with the Nursing Department objectives.
Become an integral member of the nursing team to provide optimal patient care for all patients, their families and significant others.
Check and manage loan sets and prostheses as required.
Order and maintain stock levels.
Catalogue and update inventory of instruments.
Facilitate regular servicing of inventory and equipment within the SSU area.
Participate in the validation of CSD equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services.
Demonstrated ability to apply Infection Control, Occupational Health and Safety standards and effective documentation skills.
Strong analytical, teamwork and customer-focus abilities.
Ability to prioritise and perform well under pressure.
Payment & Benefits
Salary: $***** per hour (includes casual loading) plus 12% superannuation.
Casual position available.

Requirements
All caregivers employed by St John of God Health Care are required to be vaccinated against Influenza to fulfil the requirements of the role.
Required Experience: 3–5 years (IC).
