About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, self-motivated Chef who loves cooking hearty breakfasts and classic pub-style dishes. You’ll take pride in delivering consistent, great-tasting food, keeping a calm kitchen, and working as part of a friendly, professional team.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys a busy service, cares about quality, and can be trusted to get things done without constant supervision.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and cook high-quality breakfast dishes and pub-style meals to spec and on time

Maintain excellent food presentation, portion control, and consistency across all services

Manage prep efficiently so the kitchen is always ready for service

Follow all food safety and hygiene standards (including cleaning schedules and storage)

Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure smooth service and communication

Help with stock rotation, ordering, and minimizing waste

Contribute ideas for specials and menu improvements when required

Support a positive, respectful, and safe kitchen culture

About You

Self-motivated and reliable – you take ownership of your section and don’t need micromanaging

Strong experience with breakfast service (eggs, hot breakfast plates, sides, etc.)

Confident with pub-style food: schnitzels, burgers, parmas, steaks, salads, sides, and comfort dishes

Able to handle busy services while staying organised and calm

Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen best practices

A team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude

Flexible with shifts, including weekends and public holidays

Skills & Experience

Previous experience as a Chef, Cook, or similar role in a café, pub, or restaurant

Relevant culinary qualification (preferred but not essential if experience is strong)

Knowledge of dietary requirements (gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan) is essential
