Company Overview
Platinum Pacific Partners is exclusively partnering with a high-growth private markets investment firm that has entered its next exciting expansion phase. With multiple funds under management and further growth planned, this newly created position will take ownership of fund finance, reporting and operational governance.
Working closely with the founders and senior leadership, and supported by external providers, this role offers significant autonomy to build scalable processes, enhance controls, and ensure the business operates to best-practice standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead financial reporting across all funds, including reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, quarterly NAVs and financial statements
* Manage year-end audits and key deliverables in partnership with external fund accountants
* Oversee tax compliance, including BAS reviews, fund tax returns and investor tax distribution statements
* Coordinate fund cashflows — capital calls, distributions and cash forecasting
* Ensure all fund expenses comply with governing documentation
* Drive financial planning and analysis — modelling, budgeting and internal management reporting
* Act as a key point of contact for investor reporting and financial queries
* Own compliance deliverables in a regulated environment (e.g. FATCA, CRS, AML, VCLP)
* Partner with the business to continuously refine and automate repeatable processes
Experience Required
The successful candidate will bring strong fund accounting and fund finance experience, ideally from private markets (VC, PE, private credit or similar). You will be comfortable working across financial reporting, valuations, audit coordination, and tax oversight, as well as managing external service providers. You will be hands-on, proactive, and able to balance competing priorities across multiple entities. An understanding of fund metrics such as TVPI, IRR and carried interest will be highly regarded. Experience in compliance, and confidence using modern SaaS finance tools, would also be advantageous.
This is a Sydney-based role. While part-time arrangements (minimum three days per week) may be considered for the right candidate, full-time is preferred given the firm's growth trajectory.
