Join us in shaping healthier futures. The Illawarra Shoalhaven Local Health District (ISLHD) provides health services for a population of around 400,000 in the Illawarra and Shoalhaven regions. The Illawarra Hospitals Group encompasses Wollongong, Shellharbour, Bulli and Coledale Hospitals. As Director Medical Services (DMS) IHG, you will be supported by DMS/medical administration colleagues and the IHG Executive. The role includes medical leadership, mentoring, clinical governance, patient safety and opportunities for research and education.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a key member of the medical services and clinical governance and IHG leadership team, providing strategic clinical and operational leadership
- Lead medical workforce management and foster a collaborative, patient-centred culture
- Drive clinical governance systems, standards, performance and accreditation
We are seeking an experienced medical administrator with a track record of leading change across a complex health system. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and experience in clinical governance, patient safety, strategic planning and clinical operations. Applications are welcomed from RACMA Fellows, those expecting Fellowship (FRACMA) within the next six months, or a significantly experienced clinical leader from other medical specialties.

Requirements
- Applicable vaccination requirements for a Category A role
- Working With Children Check (WWCC)
- Current AHPRA Registration and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA)
- Valid NSW Driver’s Licence
