Senior Procurement Officer
* Location: Parramatta with access to hybrid working arrangement
* Full time ongoing opportunity (35 hours per week)
* Salary from $113,574 to $125,720 pa. + super and annual leave loading
Your role
At the Aboriginal Housing Office (AHO) our purpose is to ensure every Aboriginal person in NSW has equal access to, and choice in, affordable housing. We are committed to closing the gap by delivering new homes, maintaining and upgrading existing homes, and supporting programs that empower Aboriginal families and communities across the state.
As the Senior Procurement Officer, you will play a crucial role in enabling AHO’s housing programs and projects. You will lead compliant, transparent, and value-for-money procurement activities, ensuring the successful delivery of key initiatives that provide homes for Aboriginal families.
What you’ll do
As a Senior Procurement Officer, you will:
* Lead end-to-end procurement processes, from business needs assessment and market engagement through to contract negotiation and supplier management
* Develop, coordinate, and lead sourcing activities to establish supply arrangements that meet business needs
* Develop and administer contract management plans, including negotiating changes, managing supplier performance, and ensuring compliance
* Take the initiative to progress and deliver own work and that of the team or unit
* Plan and lead contract negotiations to deliver value-for-money procurement outcomes
* Partner with staff across the organisation, providing high-level advice and guidance to build procurement expertise and improve practices
* Identify, manage, and mitigate procurement risks to meet organisational obligations and maximise business opportunities
* Document procurement processes, decisions, and contractual arrangements to ensure a full audit trail for probity and governance purposes
What we’re looking for

* Deliver complex, high-value procurement outcomes in a government environment
* Develop and implement procurement strategies, plans, and conflict-of-interest frameworks
* Provide expert advice and influence stakeholders across the organisation
* Communicate clearly and persuasively with internal teams and external suppliers
* Drive continuous improvement in procurement practices to maximise business outcomes

If you are familiar with NSW Government procurement requirements, please answer with reference to them.
If not, please outline the process and requirements you would reasonably expect to apply in a similar procurement context:
* The applicable procurement method and why
* One document that must be approved before market approach
* One post-award reporting or disclosure obligation
* Essential requirements from the awarded supplier prior to works commencing.
Question 2
Provide a specific example of a procurement you personally managed/supervised, within a regulated procurement environment, and outline the governance framework that applied:
In your response, outline:
* The estimated value and procurement method used (e.g. open tender, selective tender, scheme engagement)
* How you ensured probity and managed conflicts of interest
* One challenge encountered relating to policy, governance, or audit requirements, and how you resolved it
