The Opportunity
This is a client-side commercial leadership role, where you will act as the commercial lead across multiple major projects, managing all contract and commercial matters from post-award through to delivery and close-out. You will work closely with senior stakeholders and project teams to ensure strong commercial outcomes, effective risk management, and successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the single point of contact for all commercial and contract matters across assigned projects
* Lead contract management activities, including:
o Variations, claims, early warnings, and compensation events
* Drive commercial negotiations and dispute resolution with contractors
* Provide commercial advice and support to Project Directors and internal stakeholders
* Support procurement and transaction phases (including ECI), providing input into commercial negotiations
* Manage contract governance, reporting, and risk registers
* Oversee supplier performance and commercial outcomes
* Lead and mentor a small team (approx. 2 resources)
Projects & Environment
You will be working across major infrastructure projects typically valued between $100M – $500M+, including:
* Tunnelling and network infrastructure projects
* Pumping station developments
* Wastewater treatment plant upgrades
Projects are primarily in delivery phase, with some involvement in procurement support.
About You
You are a confident and commercially astute professional with strong experience in complex infrastructure environments.
Essential Experience
* 10+ years' experience in contract/commercial management
* Proven experience on major infrastructure or construction projects
* Strong post-contract (delivery phase) experience managing:
o Variations, claims, and disputes
* Experience working with Tier 1 / Tier 2 contractors and/or client-side organisations
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
Technical Skills
* Deep understanding of contract management and commercial strategy
* Strong knowledge of construction law and contract frameworks
* Experience with NEC contracts (highly desirable)
* Exposure to NSW Government / major project governance frameworks (beneficial but not essential)
Qualifications
* Degree in:
o Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, Law, or similar
* MRICS or equivalent (desirable)

Working Arrangements
* Hybrid working model:
o 1 day office (Parramatta region)
o 1–2 days on project sites (North/North‐West Sydney)
o Remaining days flexible / WFH
