Location: Bunbury, WA Employment Type: Full-time (5 days per week, 38 hours standard) Term of Apprenticeship: 4 years About the Role As a Painting and Decorating Apprentice, duties may include: - Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and repairing imperfections - Removing old paint, wallpaper, or coatings - Applying paint, stains, varnishes, or sealants using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment - Mixing paints and coatings to required specifications - Measuring, cutting, and applying wallpaper or decorative finishes - Creating textured or decorative effects under supervision - Setting up ladders, scaffolding, and protective coverings safely - Following occupational health and safety procedures and using PPE correctly - Cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment - Working with supervisors and other tradespeople to complete tasks What We're Looking For - Physically capable of performing hands-on work - Strong attention to detail and a solid work ethic - Reliable, punctual, and motivated to develop new skills through an apprenticeship - Ability to work effectively in a team and follow instructions - Commitment to completing the full term of the apprenticeship while working full time Eligibility Criteria - Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident - Must reside in the Bunbury / South West region or be able to travel to the workplace daily - Must hold a valid Driver's Licence (or be working towards obtaining one) - Must hold a valid Construction White Card How to Apply To be considered for this opportunity, please submit the following: - A cover letter stating you are applying for the Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship and explaining why you are interested - Your current resume - Copies of any relevant certificates (e.g. Certificate II, Pre-Apprenticeship) - A copy of your Driver's Licence - A copy of your Construction White Card Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are encouraged to apply.
