Expressions of Interest - Senior Advisor, Workplace Relations & Advisory Services



* Join Corporate Services, a division within the Department of Creative Industries, Tourism, Hospitality and Sport  
* Clerk Grade 9/10 role with salary between $129,464 and $142,665 per annum plus superannuation.
* Temporary role based in Sydney, NSW until October 2026

About the role

As the Senior Advisor, Workplace Relations & Advisory Services, you will provide expert workplace relations guidance and people advisory support across the department. You will lead and contribute to a range of complex workplace relations matters, including conduct issues, investigations, and employment-related casework, by interpreting legislation, awards, and agreements to deliver evidence-based recommendations.
In this role, you will drive innovation and continuous improvement by developing knowledge management processes, delivering strategic projects, and strengthening advisory systems and practices. You will play a key part in consultations and negotiations with unions, government partners and external specialists to support the development of equitable employment conditions, resolve industrial disputes, and ensure departmental outcomes align with legislative and government requirements.
You will conduct research and data analysis to identify trends and best practice approaches, informing policy interpretation and people and capability strategies. You will also support advocacy activities, including representation in tribunals, and work collaboratively with People & Capability colleagues to enhance service delivery and embed process improvements.



About you

You are a workplace relations specialist who brings strong technical expertise and a confident understanding of employment legislation, industrial instruments and contemporary people practices. You bring proven capability at navigating complex workplace matters with sound judgment, discretion and a solutions-focused approach.

You thrive in collaborative environments and enjoy working closely with stakeholders to build trust, resolve issues and deliver positive outcomes.
You are highly organised, manage multiple priorities with ease and produce high‑quality written work. You are a strategic thinker, resilient and work independently and as part of a team.
