Offer description

Notice: WA Health is implementing a new online recruitment system, Corporate Recruitment Advertising Management System (CRAMS), which will replace RAMS. If this is your first application using this new platform, an account will be automatically registered for you as you submit your first application. This platform, and your user account, is separate from the recruitment platform at jobs.health.wa.gov.au, and therefore requires different log in details. Job applications are moving to the new system between December 2024 and July 2025. If you are looking for other vacancies within WA Health, visit the jobs.health.wa.gov.au site for all advertised jobs. If you have any questions or difficulties, direct your queries to the contact person listed on the job advert that brought you to this site.

Are you an experienced midwife who wants to be part of a team that supports and improves the health of its people and community?

We are seeking applications for a highly capable and values-driven Clinical Midwife to join our Parent Education team at King Edward Memorial Hospital (KEMH) who is able to educate women and their support person in the antenatal clinics and who can also deliver education classes.

This is for a Fixed-Term Part Time appointment for 16 hours per fortnight until 20/01/2026, with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

What is our Clinical Midwife role?

This position, as part of a multidisciplinary team, provides clinical leadership and advanced professional expertise to ensure comprehensive evidence-based midwifery care is delivered to patients; facilitates and promotes patient safety and quality of care.

While your qualifications and experience tell part of your story, your values and attitude speak louder still. At North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS), we aim to ensure our behaviours reflect our core values: Care, Respect, Innovation, Teamwork and Integrity.

We encourage you to contact Zena Robinson on to discuss how this role aligns with your personal and career interests.

What we offer

NMHS supports flexible working practices and consideration will be given to flexible work options, where operationally appropriate. In addition to the great salary, our employees enjoy a range of benefits including:

- Salary packaging to increase take-home pay
- Diverse and inclusive culture

Area Profile

In mid-2006, as part of the health reform in Western Australia, KEMH joined with other women's based health services to form the Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS), which is part of NMHS.

With dedicated staff and best practices based on the most current evidence-based medicine, WNHS continues to deliver first-class health care to women and infants in WA.

KEMH is the State's only tertiary maternity and gynaecological hospital. It treated its first patients in 1916. More than 6000 births occur at the hospital every year and it is WA's only major referral centre for high-risk pregnancies. KEMH also has a state-of-the-art Special Care Nursery for premature and sick infants.

WNHS also offers a maternity and gynaecology unit at Osborne Park Hospital (OPH), providing gynaecology and obstetric care to women with low to moderate risk pregnancies. Women may choose to receive care at OPH for convenience while receiving equally specialised care at a smaller suburban site.

WNHS manages several state-wide services such as BreastScreen WA and other specialist programs for women and babies.
